It's a Sneaker Thing

Sneaker Stories follows street basketball players in Brooklyn, Vienna and Ghana through one hot summer, and reveals how their love of style, shoes and the game itself resonates within an international cycle of control and commodification.

This isn’t a new film. It’s actually quite old; 2008 I believe. I used this video and gallery to set the tone. I wanted to bring you guys into time. Remember when we all used to watch those And 1 videos. We all were obsessed with street ballers, their skills and the sneakers they wore. There was era in my opinion when the “Culture” was thriving. I think this type of docu film/series will find it’s way back on to our screens. Both computer and tv. These DVD’s, short films and series were the ultimate viral; Marketing and Advertising at it’s best. Remember when MTV aired Nike’s Battlegrounds: Ball or Fall? This is that I’d like to see this game get back to. The locals, the love, the stories, the history.
